Yahoo! recently published a list of the top twenty most misspelled words caught by their search queries and while most of the words / names / phrases in the list are American Idol contenders number seven (7) in the list was "Geneology" as opposed to the correct spelling of "Genealogy".

I find this interesting for two reasons 1) "Genealogy" is commonly misspelled as "Geneology", but more important to me is the idea that so many people find it of interest enough that it ranks above "Volkswagon", "Britney Spears", and "Avril Lavigne".

Oops, I did it again… It's "Volkswagen", not "Volkswagon".
