Melissa Tippens was born on May 19, 1822 in Hall County, Georgia.1 She married Jasper Dobbs, son of Balaam Dobbs and Elizabeth Long, on July 14, 1842 in Cherokee County, Georgia.2,3 She died on May 11, 1908 in Woodstock, Cherokee County, Georgia, at age 85.1

Melissa Tippens was also known as Melissa M. Tippin.
