John C. Dobbs was born in 1826 in Georgia.1 He was the son of Samuel G. Dobbs and Louraney Harrington. He married Lucy Henderson on December 28, 1846 in Harris County, Georgia.1 He died between 1870 and 1880.1

From 1861 to 1865, John C. Dobbs served in 40th Battalion, Georgia Infantry.2 From 1861 to 1865, John C. Dobbs served in 41st Regiment, Georgia Infantry.2
