She married Francis Gaume, son of Jean Baptiste Francois Xavier Jeanin-Gaume and Marie Elise Faiver, on July 12, 1871 in Napoleon; From Declaration For Widow's Pension dated Oct. 17, 1917 "That she was married to said soldier (or sailor) Francis Gaume July 12, 1871 under the name Justine Blanchard at Napoleon, Ohio by Father Amo; that she had not been previously married" Note: Given her birth year as 1856 this would mean that Justine was 14 years old at time of marriage.

Augustina Blanchard was also known as Josephine Blancherd. Augustina Blanchard was also known as Jessie M. Gaume. Augustina Blanchard was also known as Justine Blanchet. Her married name was Justine Gaume. She was found in the in 1912 in Topeka, Kansas, city directory.4
