Lodowick Dobbs

Lodowick Dobbs was born about 1759. He married Sarah Adams before 1792. He died about 1814 in Pendleton District, South Carolina.1

He and John Dobbs resided in Wilkes County, North Carolina, in 1782.2,3 He has been identified as possibly being a son of Fortune Dobbs. He was found on Petit Jury list in 1792 in Pendleton District, South Carolina.4 He left a will on May 13, 1814 in Pendleton District (Anderson Co.), South Carolina. Named as heirs were Stephen Dobbs, James G. Dobbs, Lewis Dobbs, Jesse Dobbs, David Dobbs, John Dobbs, Charles Dobbs, Peter Dobbs, Nancy Dobbs, Jane Dobbs, Lucy Dobbs, Doshia Dobbs, Sarah Adams, Lodowick Dobbs and Rev Silas Dobbs.5 Lodowick Dobbs was also known as Lodowick Adams Dobbs.
